Heat butter in a saucepan over low-medium heat until it starts to brown.
This can take several minutes, depending on the amount of butter, so don’t be an impatient asshole and give up before it’s properly browned. It will happen, I promise.
Once the butter is browned (like in the picture), immediately remove from the heat.
If you need solid butter, pour into a small bowl or jar and refrigerate or let stand at room temperature until solid. Otherwise, go to town.
